The “Keepers of the Land” Souk

Yesterday September 29 was an occasion to celebrate the “Keepers of the Land“: local farmers, mouneh producers, women cooks… custodians of our heritage and traditions. The “Keepers of the Land” farmers’ market that took place yesterday at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the American  University of Beirut, gathered food producers and artisans from different Lebanese regions, who came to display and sell their products.

The souk was organized by the Food Heritage Foundation in collaboration with the Environment and Sustainable Development Unit (ESDU) on the occasion of ESDU’s 15th Anniversary. ESDU celebrated its anniversary with a beautiful ceremony by paying tribute to friends and partners for their achievements and contributions in advancing the role of women in preserving their lands and heritage.
